FAQ

How are you responding to COVID-19?

We are closely monitoring the developments of COVID-19 and are focused on providing guests with a safe, clean, and socially-distanced glamping experience. The health and safety of our guests and community is, and will continue to be, a top priority. We have implemented strict cleaning protocols and contactless check-in to further reduce risk for guests. We ask guests to wear a mask when they are using the shared outdoor kitchen.

Is Serana 21+?

Yes. We ask that all guests staying at Serana are 21+.

Are your glamping tents & Kampinas off grid?

Our Kampinas have electricity! There are plugs to charge your devices, plus central heating & cooling. While the glamping tents do not have electricity, they do have wood burning stoves for those chilly nights and firewood is included. We also provide portable lanterns and phone chargers in the tents to make sure your bases are covered.

Are you pet friendly?

Yes! We welcome pets. We ask that pets are kept on a leash as we have ducks and chickens who wander the property that we want to keep safe. Please do not leave pets unattended at anytime.

Please note there will be an additional $35 pet fee if any excessive mess (i.e. muddy floors/rugs, mud on bed, etc.) is left, which will be handled in the Airbnb Resolution Center after your stay.

What's the bathroom and shower situation?

We have two, private outdoor hot showers on one end of the communal space building. Adjacent to the showers are shared toilets and a sink. They are conveniently located a short 1-2 minute walk from the tents and Kampinas. Our shared restrooms are regularly maintained and sanitized.

Where do I park?

When you first pull into Serana, the parking lot is immediately to your right. All glamping tents & Kampinas are a 1-2 minute walk from the parking lot, and there is a wagon in the parking lot that you can use to help transport your belongings.

What's in the communal area?

Our communal area has a fully stocked outdoor kitchen & dining area. There is a BBQ gas grill, Traeger grill, cooktop, fridge, freezer, and all the cookware you need to cook a delicious meal. During COVID, we ask that you wear a mask in this area as you cook and/or engage with other guests.

What time is check in and out?

Check in begins at 3 PM (you can check in at any time after) and check out is at 11 AM. You'll receive a message with your personalized entry code the day your stay begins. Once you reach your Kampina, simply enter the code on the door and begin to disconnect. If you booked a tent, you can access it directly.

What is the cancellation policy?

Booking payments are fully refundable up to 7 days prior to the reservation. We're happy to partially refund your booking more than 7 days prior to your reservation, but less than a week's notice puts us in a tough spot. Serana won't be able to refund your payment if you cancel your booking less than 7 days prior.

Will there be someone at Serana to help if I need it?

Yes, we live on location and are available until 9PM. We’re here to make your stay more enjoyable, so please don’t hesitate to reach out and let us know what we can do to improve your experience!

Do you provide coffee & tea?

Yes! You’ll find everything you need to brew a fresh cup of coffee or tea in our communal kitchen. Hot water, coffee grounds, french presses, and mugs are available for all guests.

Can I have a bonfire?

Yes! We have a large communal bonfire for all guests to enjoy, and each Kampina & glamping tent also have their own personal gas firepit.

Will my cell phone work?

Yes. We have found that AT&T and Verizon have the most reliable service.

What should I pack?

Pack what you would for a weekend outside, though we've got the big things covered (bedding, towels, cookware, grills). You may want to bring closed-toe shoes, a headlamp, water bottles and a USB cell phone charging cord to use with the USB battery packs in your tent. We recommend traveling with backpacks and duffles as you will be walking from your car to Kampina or tent. Be sure to check the weather before arriving and pack accordingly for all weather conditions. But not to worry, our tents & Kampinas are fully weatherized and are capable of handling common rainstorms!

Is there wifi?

No! At Serana we believe connecting with those around us and exploring the great outdoors is invaluable. For this reason, we do not have any WiFi at our location,

Do the tents have electricity?

Just like camping, there are no outlets in the tent which means no mini fridge or coffee maker. However, there are battery powered lanterns and portable USB chargers so you can charge at least 2 cell phones.

Will I have someplace to store my food?

Yes! Each cabin and tent have a dry food storage bin. We ask that you are careful about storing excess food, as invasive fire ants are a serious issue in Central Texas.

Are meals provided?

No, we do not provide food for guests at this time. We do encourage guests to bring food to cook at their own leisure. We have grills, propane stove tops, fire pits, and a fridge available to all guests.
