Hi! We’re Zach and Carlyle. We created Serana to bring together the comforts of intentional hospitality with the natural beauty of Central Texas. After years of living in big cities, we were craving a slower pace—and a way to build something tangible, something rooted. After nearly a year of searching for land, we found our property in 2019: an old family cattle ranch with sprawling post oak trees and rolling grasslands. We fell in love and haven’t looked back.
When we started, there was nothing here but a house in need of a full renovation. Every piece of the guest experience has been designed from the ground up. We’ve led most of the design process ourselves, choosing every color, texture, and material with inspiration from the natural elements that surround us. We want each space to feel like it belongs here.
At Serana, our guests are at the heart of everything we do. Whether you're here for a proposal, a birthday, a quiet weekend, or just to breathe a little easier, we hope the experience feels like staying at a good friend’s house—comfortable, familiar, and quietly memorable.
